Which Webbing Works Best for Different Applications

How do you determine what type of webbing you need for your application? You can always call our talented team to discuss your job and different webbing styles, materials, and widths that might fit your needs. If you want to start thinking about your choices on your own, we have created a small list below that should help you narrow your choices.Nylon Webbing

Bag Handles & Back Packs: When we carry our belongings around, we want to know that the straps of our bags won’t break, dropping the contents to the ground. However, any webbing can technically be used for this job. Nylon webbing is probably your best option because not only is it durable, but it is a very soft webbing material.

Canvas Edge (Fastener Reinforcement): Edges can be constructed from almost any webbing, but polyester is what most would recommend. Polyester is not likely to shrink, which means that canvas edges will hold snuggly for long periods. Polyester does not have excellent UV resistance, but because the webbing is on the underside, it does not need UV resistance.

Hammocks: The webbing you choose needs to be strong, with little to no stretch. It would help if you got webbing that has a high breaking strength. For this job, you should consider flat polyester or even 2” seat belt polyester.

Pet Collars, Harnesses, and Leashes: High concerns for strength are not as crucial for pet accessories. You want to make sure you go with a comfortable material like nylon webbing or organic cotton.
