The Difference Between Shock and Bungee Cords

When shopping, it is common to become confused by the names of products that are similar. Those that are shopping for shock cords can become confused when reading bungee cords, and those looking for shock cords get confused when reading bungee cords. Simply put, there are no differences. Bungee cords are frequently referred to as shock cords and vice versa. Bungee cord is the most common name for a cord that has an internal core composed of elastic strands that are covered by a woven sheath. Bungee cords have several names, which includes:

Shock cords are constructed with an elastic inner core made from either synthetic rubber, natural rubber, or a blend of both. The inner core material and type determine the character traits of final products.

Poly webbing has great UV and water resistance factors, which makes the ropes great for outdoor use. Cotton cannot withstand the elements as well as polypropylene.
